At Gethsemane we have a wide-range of organizations and small groups which offer members wonderful opportunities to grow, serve, worship, and fellowship with other church members.  We strongly encourage all members to take part in these organizations and groups for their spiritual benefit.

ACOLYTES - light candles and assist on a rotating basis in worship, 5^th through 8^th graders.  Contact the church office (631-7331).

ADULT BIBLE CLASSES – Meet most Sundays at 9:25 a.m. in the church basement for topical or Bible book-based study.  POC:  is Sue Eigel  or Pastor Benkendorf.  Please contact the church.

ADULT CHOIR - worship, adults of all ages, Wednesday rehearsals in church basement at 7:30 p.m.  Contact Sarah Benkendorf thru the church office.

ALTAR GUILD - serve with communion set-up and care for the altar area monthly on a rotating basis.  Open to all women of the church, quarterly meetings for team leaders.  Contact Bobbie Pearson thru the church office.

ADULT INFORMATION CLASSES – Eleven-week instruction classes for prospective members, good faith review for members too.  Classes are Thursday evenings in both the spring and fall.  Contact Pastor Sievers thru the church office.

BIBLE BREAKFASTS - Bible study fellowship for adults, 1^st Thursdays at 7:00 a.m. at Gingham’s Restaurant, 7333 S. Lindbergh and 3^rd Thursdays at 7:00 a.m. in the church basement.  BYOB (Buy your own breakfast and bring your own Bible at Gingham’s).  Contact Ted Palisch thru the church office.

CHILD-CARE NURSERY - Parish house rear, provides child-care on a rotating basis for all worship services and many church activities.  Contact Annette Kuehner thru the church office.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR – singing monthly in worship, K-8 children, Sunday rehearsals at 9:15 a.m. in gym before Sunday School.  Contact Phyllis Sievers  thru the church office.

ADULT CHIME CHOIR - worship, teens and adults, learn to ring choir chimes, Wednesday evening rehearsals in church basement at 6:30 p.m.  Call Sarah Benkendorf thru the church office.

CARD CLUB – Play single-deck pinochle, $5 per couple for refreshment kitty, 3^rd Sundays (Sep-Oct-Nov-Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr) at 6:30 p.m. in the church basement.  Contact Eldon & Audrey Jagels thru the church office.

 CHRISTIAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Christian education, K-8 grades, tuition assistance available.  Call or contact Green Park Lutheran School, 4248 Green Park Road, St. Louis, MO 63125 (544-4248).

COUPLES BOWLING - fellowship, couples, fall through spring, every other Saturday at 6:30 p.m.  Contact Ted Palisch thru the church office.

GET-TOGETHERS – periodic fellowship activities for couples, families, singles.  Contact Shirley Illert with the Faith in Action Board thru the church office.

 GREETERS - welcome members and guests before and after worship services on a rotating basis.  Contact Janet Zimmerly thru the church office.

GROUNDSKEEPERS & HELPERS - help maintain church buildings and grounds, perform handy tasks on a volunteer and as needed basis, adults of all ages.  Contact Chet Hudson thru the church office.

HOME BIBLE STUDY GROUPS – Small-groups of adults of various ages meet in member homes for Bible study with participants choosing time, place, and area of study.  Contact Pastor Benkendorf  thru the church office.

LADIES AID - fellowship and service, ladies of all ages, 1^st  Thursday of the month, church basement,  12 noon brown bag lunch, 1:00 p.m. meeting. Contact Geraldine Kincer thru the church office.

LADIES EVENING GUILD - fellowship and spiritual growth, working women, young mothers, meetings are the 4^th Monday of the month in church basement at 7:00 p.m. Contact Jane Friedman thru the church office.

MEN’S CLUB - fellowship and service, men of all ages, meetings are 1^st Tuesday of the month in church basement at 7:30 p.m.  Contact Charles Costley thru the church office.

OFFICE HELPERS - Assist the church office with mailings, folding, sorting and telephoning.  Adults of all ages.  Contact Denny Feltman thru the church office..

SINGLES FREESTYLE VOLLEYBALL - recreational volleyball, single Christian brothers and sisters of various ages, Fridays at 7:30 p.m.  Play at various area churches.  Contact Sue Eigel thru the church office.

SUNDAY SCHOOL - spiritual grown, children 3 and up, every Sunday, assemble in Parish Hall at 9:15 a.m.  Contact Sylvia Smith thru the church office.

USHER STAFF - serve in worship service on a rotating basis, ages 16 and older.  Contact Richard Dencker thru the church office.

VIDEO LIBRARY - devotional, educational, loaning library of Christian videos, Bible movies, Bible books.  For a listing or checkout information contact the church office. (631-7331)

VOTERS ASSEMBLY - congregation’s governing body, open to all members 18 and over.  Meets the 2^nd Sunday in January, March, May, September and November at 9:15 a.m. in church basement.  Contact Charles Costley thru the church office.

WOMAN’S PRAYER GROUP – Meets most Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in the church basement for devotional sharing and intercessory prayer.  Contact Jane Friedman thru the church office.

YAG (Young Adult Group) – Young adults, single and married, meet monthly for a fun, family, and faith-building activities. Contact Karen George thru the church office.

YOUTH BIBLE CLASSES - Bible study, faith application, Jr. High and High School Youth, Sundays at 9:15 a.m. in Parish Hall Youth Room.  Contact Sharon Brooner thru the church office.
