..... the Lemay Housing Partnership has funds that can be used to assist low-income Lemay residents with necessary home repairs?  You should have received a letter about this.  For more information or for volunteer service opportunities, call 631-9905. 

..... Beth Berner and Dana Wilson were both elected to our School Committee at the May Voters’ Meeting?  Joan Winheim was also appointed to fill the unexpired term of Karen George on this committee which represents us on the Green Park Lutheran School Board.

..... our Board of Education is not planning a Vacation Bible School for this summer only?    

..... Diane Westphal has been appointed to serve as chairperson of our Altar Guild?  She replaces Roberta Pearson who has recently moved to Florida.

..... Norman and Mary Eatherton would be happy to find you a ride to church for worship and other activities?  If you have or know of someone who needs transportation, please call them through the church office.          

..... our GIFT BAG PROGRAM continues to collect different food and household items for area needy families?  Labeled bags with the needed item(s) of the month are handed out in worship each first weekend to be filled and brought back to church before month’s end and then delivered to Feed My People.

..... our Board of Evangelism invites you to join them in meeting new families in the 63125 zip code?  For more information or to join our happy band of outreachers, call the church office (631-7331).

..... We still need a volunteer to serve as our CHIEF GREETER—to take over the task of recruiting and scheduling our worship greeters?  Someone, please call the church office (631-7331) and say “yes”.

..... our co-ed slow-pitch softball team plays on Sundays at the South County YMCA on Tesson Ferry? Contact the Church office.

..... Sharon Brooner once again serves as our Youth Leader?  She took a leave of absence last fall due to her heavy work schedule as a paralegal.

.....  Our Archives Committee has converted one of the upstairs classrooms in the parish house into an Archives Room?  Our church records are being cataloged and stored there.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Gethsemane Family “Cabin”-out at the Eagle Hurst Ranch, August 23 – 24, 2008. We will again be offering both the option to pitch a tent or sleep in an air-conditioned cabin.  The cabins have showers/bathrooms and a dorm-sized refrigerator. There are no outdoor shower facilities for those in tents (maybe one of your Gethsemane family members will let you use the shower in their cabin!). There are outdoor bathrooms located very close to the camping area. We will again have the ranch to ourselves and have the use of their various facilities! We will be having a hayride again, as well as Smore’s around the campfire! I have also been informed that there is a great trout stream close by where you can enjoy catch and release fly fishing! We will again be ending the weekend with a church service on Sunday in the screened-in chapel on the ranch!

 CO-ED SOFTBALL

 We have signed up to have a softball team again this year for the recreational co-ed slow pitch softball league at the South County YMCA.  Games will be played on Sunday afternoons, with game times ranging from 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 or 6:00 p.m.  If you are interested in playing, please contact the Church office
